Give a Gift of Hope!

Giving Tuesday should inspire us all to give to others today but also seek to be generous throughout the year. Be it our prayers, time, talents financial or other resources, we all have the capacity to bring joy and hope to others. I want to highlight the work of the charity that is near and dear to my heart:

Hope Restored Canada.

I founded the charity in 2015 (and led as chair of our board of directors for the first 4 years alongside co-founder Joeline Magill as vice chair). After learning about human trafficking and sexual exploitation in 2010, I knew I needed to do something about it. Little did I know that when I stepped out in faith and resigned from the first charity I founded and served in for 16 years (Women’s Journey Faith in Saskatoon- now that felt like jumping off a cliff in some ways), …that God was leading me in the direction of starting a second charity to combat sexual exploitation. We do this through our H.O.P.E. model which involves Holistic Restoration, Outreach, Partnership and Education to the general public on the issue at hand. It’s been a labour of love and after 6 years since its inception, I am thrilled to see it still growing amidst the pandemic and all of its challenges. I invite you to keep this mission in prayer and/or join me in raising some funds for Hope Restored! I am finishing off my last term on the board with HRC and the charity is in great hands with a full board and growing staff. (Click here to see “our team”). Contact me if you’d like to learn about ways to support the charity or resources that have inspired me to pray for the cause here and throughout the nations.

From our HRC Newsletter: “Give a Gift of Hope!”

“Who contributes to this collective effort in making a difference?

The program participants, through their commitment to personal growth and change. They are the ones for whom we exist.

The donors and funders, the individuals and agencies who provide necessary financial resources. During 2021, we benefited from additional COVID funding provided by the federal government and other agencies, as well as valuable personal contributions from individual donors.

The staff and volunteers, who give tirelessly of their time, talent, and energy to ensure that individual participant needs are met. Joeline Magill, in her role as Executive Director, has been instrumental in leading the organization’s program growth and development. She inspires the contracted staff and cadre of volunteers that offer their expertise and time to fulfill program needs. She is a role model and servant leader for the dozens of participants that have accessed our programs and services.

The board of directors, a dedicated group of women and men who share a passion for the cause and contribute their experience and expertise to overseeing the organization.

During the past two years, Hope Restored has experienced significant growth and opportunity. We’ve began to see that we can make a difference, especially for the participants in the holistic program that we provide for our participants. That’s what we’re all about!

At this time, we are in immediate need of additional financial resources to meet our obligations. We have a need to raise $40,000 before the end of December.

We invite you to consider how you can support us in making a difference!”- Hope Restored Canada
