Virtual 50th Birthday Videos- Words (and Dance Moves) Can Be a Powerful Gift

(Continued from the previous post: 50 Reasons to be Thankful: A Birthday Birthday Party )

A Welcome Surprise on my 50th Birthday

I received two videos from some family and friends that Jaclyn ( one of my 4 daughters) pulled together last minute. She showed it to me when my head hit the pillow at the end of my Virtual Birthday party amidst Covid 19 Self Isolation/ Quarantine time. I know there were others who have expressed a desire to share a word too or danced in the Virtual dance party video they made to "Dancing Queen" but my heart was deeply touched by the effort made to pull this together and more so the fun words, touching comments and scriptures of promise or edification. Reminds me not to take people for granted- everyone we meet can impact our life.

The second video was a much longer tribute that was a heartfelt blessing of words from some of my dear family and friends. What a surprise! This is a lovely keepsake for years to come.

Our Words are Powerful.

Being the recipient of these gifts of words inspires me (as I hope it inspires you). Hopefully, we can all be more positive with our words with one another- not just on special occasions, but each and every day to one another.

A video like this brings some passages of scripture to mind of the importance of our words to build up or tear down:

  • 1 Thess: 5:11 "So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing."

  • Matthew 15:11 It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.”

  • Ephesians 4:29 Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.

  • James 3:3-5 "We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire."

  • Ephesians 4:32 "Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you."

  • 1 Corinthians 14:1 "Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives—especially the ability to prophesy."

I Hope to Celebrate my 50th are Year Long!

If I'm having a tough day, my hubby reminded me to pull this out and watch as the tears were just a flowing today as I watched for the second time as a 50 year plus 1 day old woman:)

Our words can be a powerful tool to share love and hope. Some that I've known for years, some I'm just getting to know- but so special to have so many share a message to me for my 50th through this way, texts, Facebook live, on my blog, Instagram or otherwise today.

Before I received these two sentimental videos at midnight of my bday, I wrote a blog the morning of my birthday called "50 Reasons to be Thankful: A Virtual Birthday Party"- which you can read here:

May this blog or videos help inspire you to seek ways you can encourage others through your words today. One thing I am learning through this pandemic is that what is most important in life is our relationships. My relationship with God, myself and with others.
